Родился в Ленинграде в 1950 г.
Там окончил университет и с 1972 работал в Центральной Лаборатории Главрыбвода Министерства Рыбного хозяйства СССР.
В 1983 году переехал в поселок Дальние Зеленцы, где работал в Мурманском Морском Биологическом Институте (ММБИ) Кольского филиала Академии Наук СССР.
В 1994 году уехал в Израиль. Жил в киббуце, работал в Университете им. Бен-Гуриона в Беер-Шеве, с 1997 года живу в Эйлате, работаю в компании “Red Sea Fish Pharm”.
В российский период жизни занимался биологией и физиологией лососевых рыб, в последние годы – проблемами, связанными с аквариумным содержанием кораллов и коралловых рыб.
